Founder
Joel Pilger is a former studio founder turned advisor, dedicated to helping creative entrepreneurs master the business side of their studios so they can unlock their greatest creative freedom.
At just 12 years old, Joel began his creative journey with an 8mm camera, shooting a backyard sci-fi epic called Cosmic Battles. That passion grew into Impossible Pictures, the studio he built and ran for 20 years, producing award-winning commercials and content for some of the world’s biggest brands.
But after nearly losing everything by ignoring the fundamentals of business, Joel experienced a turning point: mastering business wasn’t the opposite of creativity—it was the enabler of it. Since then, his mission has been to help other founders avoid the same mistakes and build thriving, sustainable studios.
Through Forum, his global community, and the Creative Studio OS, Joel has guided hundreds of founders worldwide. He also hosts Fuse Dinners, intimate gatherings he has led in more than 40 cities with 700+ top creative entrepreneurs. His work combines community, coaching, accelerators, and speaking to transform the way creative leaders think about business.
Joel’s story is both a cautionary tale and a roadmap. His mission is simple: to prove that business mastery doesn’t kill creativity—it multiplies it.
