ABOUT MODERN LEADERSHIP COACHING

We Help People Who Are Responsible for Others Learn How to Actually Develop Them

Most people get promoted, certified, or hired into roles where they're expected to develop other people. Lead a team. Coach a client. Manage performance. Guide someone through a transition.

And almost nobody teaches them how to do that well.

Not the theory. Not the frameworks you memorize for an exam. The actual skill of sitting across from someone, understanding what's really going on, and knowing how to move them forward.

That's the gap we close.

How We Got Here

Thirteen years ago, Teresa and I were raising two small kids, working full-time jobs, and trying to figure out how to build something meaningful together.

We didn't start with a business plan. We started with a problem we kept running into... people in leadership and coaching roles who cared deeply about the people they served but didn't have a repeatable way to create real change in conversation.

They had credentials. They had experience. They had good intentions.

What they didn't have was a method.

Teresa spent years in behavioral health and human development. She understands how people actually change — not how we wish they would, but how the brain and body process growth, resistance, and breakthrough. She built the coaching model that became the foundation of everything we teach.

I spent over twenty years in leadership, including time as an LAPD Sergeant, where I learned that the ability to develop people isn't a nice-to-have. It's the difference between a team that functions and one that falls apart. I also learned that most leadership development programs teach you what to think about leadership but never how to lead a conversation that changes someone.

Together, we built Modern Leadership Coaching to solve that specific problem.

Who We Help

We work with people who share one thing in common... they're responsible for the growth of other human beings and they want to get measurably better at it.

That looks different depending on where you are.

Leaders inside organizations who manage teams and know that their ability to coach, develop, and retain their people is the highest-leverage skill they can build. They're tired of surface-level leadership training that doesn't change how they actually show up in conversation.

Coaches building a practice who have the certification but feel the gap between what they learned in training and what's required when a real client is sitting across from them. They want to move from competent to masterful — and they want clients to feel the difference.

Consultants and specialists who already have deep expertise in their field but realize that delivering information isn't the same as developing people. They want to add coaching as a skill that makes their existing work more impactful and more valuable.

People in transition who know they want to do work that involves developing others but haven't found the right model or path yet. They're not looking for another certification to hang on the wall. They're looking for something that actually makes them effective.

What connects all four is the same gap: the distance between knowing things and being able to develop people through conversation.

What Makes Us Different

We don't teach a philosophy and hope you figure out how to apply it. We teach a method.

Our program... the High Impact Mastery Academy... is built around the GROWTH Model, a proprietary coaching framework that gives you a repeatable structure for conversations that create real movement.

Not scripts. Not rigid steps. A living model you internalize and adapt to every person and every situation.

Teresa designed it. I pressure-tested it in environments where the stakes were real and the margin for error was thin.

Here's what else is different about how we work.

We teach the skill, not just the concept. There's a difference between understanding emotional intelligence and being able to use it when someone is shut down, defensive, or stuck. We train at the level of application.

We bring complementary strengths. Teresa sees the human development side...  how people process change, where resistance lives, what unlocks growth. I see the leadership and business side... how to build credibility, create structure, and make this work in the real world. You get both.

We keep it small on purpose. Our cohorts are capped because mastery doesn't happen in a crowd. You get direct feedback, real practice, and personal attention. This isn't a course. It's a development experience.

We care about what happens after. A credential means nothing if you can't deliver results. We measure success by whether you walk away able to sit across from someone and create a conversation that actually changes something.

What We Believe

Everyone deserves access to someone who knows how to help them grow.

Not someone who means well. Not someone who read a book. Someone with real skill.

The world is full of people in positions of influence...  managers, coaches, consultants, mentors... who were never taught how to develop another human being. And the people they're responsible for pay the price for that gap every day.

We believe closing that gap is some of the most important work there is.

We believe the skill of developing people is learnable, practicable, and worth getting great at.

And we believe that when you get great at it, everything changes... for you and for every person you work with.

Ready to Close the Gap?

If you're someone who's responsible for developing others and you know there's a gap between where you are and where you want to be, we should talk.

We're not for everyone. We work with people who are serious about mastery, willing to practice, and ready to be challenged.

If that sounds like you, the next step is to apply.
